Anyways, now that we're done with the pleasantries, let's get to business. Just how heavy are Bridget's yoyos?
Let's start by answering the most immediate questions.
To answer each question in order: Bridget is a playable character in the fighting game series Guilty Gear. The Bridget you probably thinking of appears in the game Guilty Gear: Strive. A yoyo is a type of spinning toy, attached to a string thus that it can spin around a looped end of the string. I care deeply about this.
to answer the question of the weight of bridgets yoyos, we must first figure out what they are made of. From my (admittedly surface level) research, there has never been a conformation of what exactly her yoyos are made of, so we will have to make an educated guess. If using purely knowledge from the yoyo space (which I have extensive knowledge in, I assure), I would hazard a guess at the yoyos being aluminum, to reduce weight, and thus make the yoyos more maneuverable. Using any knowledge of architecture (which I have significantly less knowledge of) would perhaps make one believe the yoyos are a type of steel, to increase weight and durability, and thus increase damage. If only to simplify the situation, I will say that the yoyos are solid aluminum.
Now that we're done with that, let's get to the juicy stuff. how big are Bridget's yoyos? We can use several methods to figure this out, but because this is not a serious question, we will use Bridgets height to approximate the size of the yoyos. According to thegamer.com, Bridget is 5 feet 2 inches tall. The heels may or may not account towards this height, but seeing as I don't really want to bother figuring out if the initial metric accounts for her shoes.
Using this sprite from Guilty Gear X2, we can determine each of Bridgets yoyos are roughly 7.5 inches tall. (Bridget is 62 inches tall, 8.5 yoyos tall. 62 divided by 8.5 equals 7.5.) now the hard part. how thick are the yoyos? they arent 2d images in-universe, after all.
we can use THIS sprite to figure out the width of the yoyos, being 6.2 inches. (bridget height of 62 inches, divided by 10.2 equals 6.2) i know the image of the yoyo isn't straight-on, but its by such a small angle it isnt mentionable.
The second-to-last calculation we must do is finding the volume of the yoyo. to simplify the solution, and to make this more accurate to the later games, we will say the yoyos are perfect cylinders. this calculation is the most complicated part of this process, so I'll speed through it to make this better for everyone involved.
Great, the volume of each of the yoyos is 273.91 cubic inches! That is a LOT of yoyo. Now to figure out the weight per cubic inch of aluminum. I have no knowledge on this subject, so I will just use an online calculator. Using Omnimath's online aluminum weight calculator, we find that the weight of each yoyo is 26.72 pounds, or 12.2 kilograms. that is much heavier than your average yoyo. Bridget is throwing around 27 pound chucks of aluminum. Let's figure out how much getting hit with that would hurt.
to figure this out, all we need left is to figure out how quickly those yoyos are moving. this is easy. using the following sprite we can determine the yoyos move at 8.8 miles per hour.
using this, we can find the yoyos each have 47.6 newtons of force behind them. for comparison, 3000 netwons are required to break a human rib. thes yoyos may be heavy, but they arent very forcefull. Don't get me wrong, 47 newtons to the gut still hurts like hell, but it wont kill you. 47 newtons to the skull is a concusion, sure, but this does make sense. if Bridget is cracking ribs with every hit, sge would be very overpowered. now, i realize I didn't use an attack animation for this, but whatever. I'm tired. goodnight
